A Lullaby for Death

You are quick and weak.
Let’s play hide and seek.
I am the seeker,
You’re a bit meeker.
You can’t and won’t win
For I am your sin.
Your memories vague
And I am your plague
For I am not small
And you’ll surely fall.
You should not fear me.
You must pay my fee.
No lucky seven,
Won’t go to Heaven.

Hi everyone. As you can see this is a somewhat dark poem, but hear me out there is method to my madness. This is in reference to one of Edgar Allen Poe's short Stories "Masque of the Red Death" that we were reading during my English class. Read the story and you'll understand the poem. If you already understand the poem with or without reading the story than I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you and have a nice day! ^_^
